The Knowledge Base Problem
Most AI chatbots fail for one reason: they don't have good information to work with.
Without a well-structured knowledge base, AI either makes things up (hallucination) or gives vague, unhelpful answers. Neither builds trust with your visitors.
The fix isn't better AI — it's better content.
Start with Real Questions
Look at your existing support channels:
- What do customers email about most?
- What questions come up in live chat?
- What are your most-viewed FAQ pages?
These real questions are your blueprint. Write answers for the top 20-30, and you'll cover 80% of incoming queries.
Write for Clarity, Not Keywords
AI understands meaning, not just keywords. Modern semantic search finds relevant content based on intent, not exact word matches. This means:
- Write naturally — "You can return items within 30 days" is better than "Return Policy: 30 Day Window"
- Be specific — "Shipping to Germany takes 3-5 business days" beats "International shipping varies"
- Include context — "Free shipping on orders over £50 (UK mainland only)" answers the follow-up before it's asked
How Semantic Search Works
Traditional search matches keywords. If a visitor asks "can I get my money back?" and your knowledge base says "refund policy", keyword search might miss the connection.
Semantic search understands that "get my money back" and "refund" mean the same thing. It converts both the question and your content into mathematical representations (embeddings) and finds the closest match by meaning.
Keeping It Updated
A knowledge base is only useful if it's current. With enuchat, updates take effect immediately. Edit a knowledge base entry at 10:00, and visitors get the updated answer at 10:01. No retraining, no deployment, no delay.
Getting Started with enuchat
- Create a widget in the enuchat dashboard
- Add knowledge sources — paste your FAQ, product info, or policies
- Enable AI auto-replies — the AI starts answering questions immediately
- Monitor and refine — check which questions AI handles well and where it needs more content
The whole process takes about 15 minutes.
